Dubai travel video: a practical first-trip guide | Mubboo Flights
This 5.1-minute city guide connects Downtown Dubai, Dubai Creek, Jumeirah, Dubai Marina, and Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve into a practical first-trip plan, helping travellers choose what fits instead of rushing through a checklist. The loop

One loop covers every budget. Dubai Mall and the Dubai Fountain stay free at every tier; Burj Khalifa’s deck is the one paid upgrade.
- Start at Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Metro Station (Red Line) and cross the covered Metro Link Bridge into Dubai Mall.
- Browse Dubai Mall at no cost beyond what you choose to buy; it stays air-conditioned start to finish.
- Enter Burj Khalifa at your chosen tier: skip the deck, book Silver, or book Gold.
- Walk to the Waterfront Promenade for the evening’s free Dubai Fountain show, every 30 minutes from 6pm to 11pm.
- Finish back at the Metro Link Bridge to return to the station.
Dubai Mall & Dubai Fountain
Free, mid or splurge: always free; only the Burj Khalifa upgrade changes above them.
Burj Khalifa observation deck
Free: seen from the promenade below. Mid: the Silver deck. Splurge: Gold’s At the Top SKY, with a guided tour.
Free

Every stop on this loop is free beyond a meal you choose to buy. Dubai Mall’s shops, the Dubai Fountain’s evening shows and Burj Khalifa’s tower all cost nothing to see.
- Walk the Metro Link Bridge into Dubai Mall and browse freely — no ticket needed anywhere inside.
- Pick up a snack or meal from any of the mall’s food options.
- Walk out to the Waterfront Promenade for a 6pm, 6:30pm or later fountain show.
- Watch the fountain and Burj Khalifa’s lit facade from the free promenade; the deck stays optional.

On your own
The free loop stands alone: the mall, the fountain and the tower’s silhouette all need no guide.
With a guide
Not needed here: the guided options bundle a full private city day, not this one free stretch.
The free day: free, plus whatever you choose to spend at Dubai Mall.
Prices checked 14 Sep 2026 · per person, tickets and transport, excluding accommodation
Mid: about AED 180 in tickets
One ticket changes the day: Burj Khalifa’s Silver deck, Levels 124 and 125, checked live at about AED 180 for a normal weekday. Dubai Mall and the Fountain stay free beyond a meal.
See or book Burj Khalifa tickets
- Browse Dubai Mall first, then pick a fountain showtime for after your Burj Khalifa slot.
- Book the Silver ticket online for a timed entry; popular evening slots sell out first.
- Ride up to Levels 124 and 125 and allow about an hour for the view.
- Walk back to the promenade afterwards for the next free fountain show.

Not verified for this stretch alone: Viator’s guided options bundle a full day, not just this loop — see Splurge instead.
The mid-range day: about AED 180 per person in tickets.
Prices checked 14 Sep 2026 · per person, tickets and transport, excluding accommodation
Splurge: about AED 700, guide included

The Gold ticket adds Level 148 and its own guided tour, checked live at about AED 700. Paying more again buys a private guide for the rest of the day, not a bigger deck.
See or book a private Burj Khalifa tour
- Book the Gold “At the Top SKY” ticket for Level 148, which already includes a Guest Ambassador’s guided tour and Arabic coffee.
- Add a private guide and vehicle, booked through Tours, for the parts of Dubai a plaque cannot explain.
- Time your Gold slot for early evening to combine the deck with a fountain show afterwards.
- Walk the mall and promenade unguided afterwards if you would rather keep the saving.

With a guide
The one splurge that changes the day: a private guide and vehicle cover Burj Khalifa and beyond.

Before you go up
The same rules meet every tier at the entrance, and the whole experience is wheelchair accessible with free Wi-Fi throughout. Two of them change what you book: how long the deck takes, and how early you go in for sunset.
Good to know
- Handbags and purses come up with you. Strollers, shopping bags, sports bags and backpacks wait in the luggage room by the entrance.
- Allow about an hour and a half on Levels 124 and 125; a Level 148 ticket adds up to 30 minutes higher up first.
- There is no sunset ticket. For sunset, take a Level 124 entry about 120 minutes beforehand.
- Outside food and drink stay outside, and the outdoor terrace can close in bad weather with no refund or rain check.
Levels 124 and 125, at 456 metres
Viewing telescopes, Wi-Fi and an outdoor terrace; stay as long as you like.
Level 148, At the Top SKY
Its own outdoor terrace and up to 30 minutes, then down to Levels 124 and 125.
Getting there and back
Two clocks bound this loop: when the Metro runs, and when Dubai Mall closes. Sunday is the day that catches people out, because the stations open three hours later than they do the rest of the week.
Good to know
- Metro stations run 5am to midnight Monday to Thursday and Saturday, 5am to 1am on Friday, and only from 8am on Sunday.
- Dubai Mall’s shops open at 10am daily and close at 11pm Monday to Thursday, midnight Friday to Sunday.
- The Metro Link Bridge is a temperature-controlled glass travellator tunnel, and it keeps the mall’s own hours.
- A single-use nol Red Ticket needs no card, and transfers stay free for up to three changes inside a 180-minute journey.
| Item | AED per journey |
|---|---|
| Within one zone | AED 3 |
| Two adjacent zones | AED 5 |
| More than two zones | AED 7.50 |
If you are on a layover
DXB is Dubai’s only realistic airport for this loop. Dubai’s hottest months make the promenade the one stretch worth timing for the evening, since the bridge, mall and deck all stay indoors.
Good to know
- DXB is Dubai’s only realistic commercial airport for a first-time visitor; there is no separate airports feeder for this city.
- Only the promenade stretch is outdoors; the Metro Link Bridge, Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa’s deck are indoors or covered.
- Between June and August, time the promenade stretch for after sunset, when the fountain’s evening shows also run.
- Check RTA’s own journey planner for a live route and fare from DXB before you fly; minutes vary by traffic.

Where a guided tour earns its money in one day
Paying for a person, not a bigger ticket, is what changes this loop: a private guide extends Burj Khalifa into a full day once you already own the Gold ticket. The mall and the fountain need no explaining.
Mubboo compares flights and tours and may earn a commission when a traveller uses a partner link. Booking and payment happen with the provider.

Questions people ask
Does the Dubai Fountain perform every day of the week?
Yes. Evening shows run every 30 minutes from 6pm to 11pm, and watching from the promenade needs no ticket.
Do I need to book the Burj Khalifa ticket before I arrive?
Yes. Every tier uses timed entry, and popular evening slots close to sunset sell out first.
Can I do this loop without going up Burj Khalifa at all?
Yes. The free tier already covers Dubai Mall and the Dubai Fountain’s evening shows without a single ticket.
Is this loop realistic during Dubai’s hottest months?
Mostly. The Metro Link Bridge, Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa’s deck stay indoors or covered; only the promenade needs evening timing.
Should I visit Burj Khalifa before or after the Dubai Fountain?
Before, since the fountain’s evening shows only start at 6 in the evening; an earlier Burj Khalifa slot frees your evening for the free show.
Do young children pay to ride the Metro to Dubai Mall?
No. Children five years old and below travel free on every nol product, so a family pays only for its adults and older children.
