Choose the anchor before planning the route

All three plans can begin in Cancún, but a fixed boat departure changes the order. Keep the independent beach plan if you want time without a reservation.

  1. Choose the public beach for a flexible day.
  2. Choose Museo Maya for a local archaeology stop.
  3. Choose MUSA only if snorkeling and its fixed boat logistics appeal.
OptionOur verdict
BeachFree admission and flexible timing; watch the swim flag.
MuseumPay entry for indoor exhibits and adjacent San Miguelito ruins.
MUSA snorkelPay for a boat-led underwater experience with an extra dock fee.

Free: Playa Delfines for free

Playa Delfines is a public Hotel Zone beach. Set the swimming plan by the flag on arrival; access to the sand does not promise safe water conditions.

  1. Arrive at the public entrance with your own sun protection.
  2. Check the posted flag and lifeguard directions before entering the water.
  3. Stay for the beach day or leave early if weather makes the water unsuitable.

Museo Maya combines galleries with San Miguelito’s outdoor archaeological remains. The reviewed resale ticket buys entry; it does not add a guide or local transfer.

  1. Check your chosen entry date and reseller delivery instructions.
  2. Visit the galleries, then walk the San Miguelito grounds.
  3. Keep beach time optional instead of rushing both sites.

Good to know

  • INAH lists a lower national-adult than foreign-adult gate charge; the reseller price may exceed either official category.

  1. Choose the date and confirm your shuttle pickup.
  2. Ask which gallery, departure dock and conditions apply to the chosen option.
  3. Allow the boat timetable to define the day; add beach time only afterward.
