Athens in One Day: Acropolis, Acropolis Museum and Ancient Agora

The tickets are separate purchases, not a pass or guaranteed checkout total; the one-day guide also compares lower-cost plans.

Three tickets, three sets of rules

These three visits share a neighbourhood but not a rulebook, so this page prices three tickets with one honest total, not a pass.

OptionOur verdict
The AcropolisThe main site, admitted by timed entry. Our ticket comes with an audio guide and cannot be refunded.
The Acropolis MuseumThe galleries below the rock, on a flex-entry ticket with an audio guide. Free to cancel up to 24 hours ahead.
The Ancient AgoraThe site with the Temple of Hephaestus and the Agora Museum. Tickets only, free to cancel up to 24 hours ahead.

Separate tickets, no multi-site pass

Each ticket here covers one site and is confirmed on its own, so the total is three prices added together. The museum runs its own admission, and no site ticket includes it.

Good to know

  • The state ticket store lists the Acropolis and the Ancient Agora as separate timed-entry tickets.
  • The audio-guide ticket priced below is our closest thing to a bare Acropolis ticket. Every Acropolis ticket we sell includes an audio tour or a live guide.
  • A guided tour with entry included is a different purchase from a ticket, and it sits on the Tours page.

Which ticket to book first

The Acropolis ticket cannot be refunded and needs a timed slot, so it sets the day. The other two are free to cancel and bend around it.

  1. Acropolis first: settle your day, then buy. You choose the entry time from a link in a separate email after booking.
  2. Ancient Agora second, ideally on the same day as the Acropolis. It is free to cancel until 24 hours before the visit.
  3. Acropolis Museum last, on whichever day is left. There is no fixed time slot, and it stays open until 10pm on Fridays.
  4. Keep 1 January, 1 May, Orthodox Easter Sunday and 25 and 26 December empty: all three are closed.

Good to know

  • The Acropolis and the Agora also close on 25 March, when the museum stays open.
  • Download the Acropolis ticket and its audio tour on Wi-Fi before you arrive; the provider advises this.

Opening hours and closed days

Hours change with the season, so the table shows the range. Last entry is 20 minutes before closing at the two sites, and 30 minutes before closing for the Acropolis Museum.

The museum and Agora tickets can be cancelled for a full refund up to 24 hours ahead. The Acropolis ticket cannot be refunded.

Good to know

  • Acropolis: a time-slotted e-ticket with an audio guide and a city audio walk on your own phone, and no live guide.
  • Acropolis Museum: a flex-entry ticket with an English digital audio guide, so no time slot is fixed.
  • Ancient Agora: tickets only, covering the site, the Agora Museum in the Stoa of Attalos and the Temple of Hephaestus.

Questions people ask

Can I book the Acropolis, the museum and the Agora as one ticket?

No. Each has its own reviewed ticket, bought and confirmed on its own. The total here is the sum of three starting prices, not a pass or a bundled checkout.

Is the Acropolis Museum included in an Acropolis ticket?

No. The museum runs its own admission, independent of the Acropolis and other archaeological-site tickets, so it is booked as a separate ticket.

Which ticket should I book first?

The Acropolis, because its ticket cannot be refunded and carries a timed slot. Then the Ancient Agora, and the museum last on the day that remains.

Which of these tickets can I cancel?

The Acropolis Museum and Ancient Agora tickets can be cancelled for a full refund up to 24 hours before the visit. The Acropolis ticket cannot be refunded.

Is there a bare Acropolis ticket with no audio guide?

Not in the tickets we sell. Every Acropolis ticket comes with an audio tour or a live guide, and the one priced here is the audio-guide ticket.

On which days are all three closed?

On 1 January, 1 May, Orthodox Easter Sunday and 25 and 26 December. The Acropolis and Agora also close on 25 March, when the museum stays open.
