Abu Dhabi in 2, 3 or 4 Days: Can You Do It for AED 590? One Plan, Grouped by Area

Three days: the default plan

One area a day, moving west to east, so you never cross the city twice. Times and tickets sit in the day blocks.

1. Day 1: Old Abu Dhabi. Qasr Al Watan in the morning, Qasr Al Hosn in the afternoon, the Corniche at sunset.
2. Day 2: the Grand Mosque at 9am, then Saadiyat Island for the Louvre, whose dome stays open after the galleries close.
3. Day 3: Yas Island. One indoor park, or the circuit, with a free shuttle listed from the city.
4. Before you fly: reserve the mosque visit pass, then choose the Yas park date.
5. Day order: swap Days 2 and 3 on a Monday, when the Louvre may be closed. On a Friday the mosque pauses and Qasr Al Hosn opens late.

Day 1: Old Abu Dhabi, about AED 85 in tickets

Day one stays on the island. The palace goes first because its visit ends in the late afternoon; the fort stays open until 8pm, and on a Friday it does not open until 2pm.

1. Take a taxi to Qasr Al Watan at Ras Al Akhdar for the morning visit. Cover knees and shoulders and leave flip-flops behind.
2. Ride to Qasr Al Hosn after lunch. It opens at 9am Saturday to Thursday and closes at 8pm.
3. The fort is the ticketed part. The House of Artisans, the Cultural Foundation and the grounds carry no admission of their own.
4. Walk the Corniche as the light drops: eight kilometres of waterfront with separate cycle and pedestrian paths.

Day 2: the Grand Mosque and Saadiyat, about AED 100

Day two runs east: the mosque while it is cool and quiet, then Saadiyat. The Louvre’s dome stays open after the galleries close, so the museum can be your afternoon or your evening.

1. Arrive at the mosque for 9am with your reserved visit pass. The dress code applies to everyone.
2. On a Friday, finish by 11:30am. The mosque closes then and reopens at 2:30pm.
3. Take a taxi to Saadiyat Island. Its Abu Dhabi Link bus takes over from there, booked by app.
4. Enter the Louvre from 10am. Its galleries close earlier than its dome, so the afternoon suits the collection.
5. Stay on for the dome in the evening; it stays open after the galleries close.

Day 3: Yas Island, about AED 410 in tickets

Yas is a resort island, so give it a whole day and one park. Warner Bros. World is the region’s largest indoor park, which suits the hottest months.

1. Reach Yas by taxi, or by the park’s free shuttle listed from Abu Dhabi city (Route D); arrival times are approximate.
2. Read the opening hours for your date. Each Yas park lists its own.
3. Around the island, use the Abu Dhabi Link bus by app, which runs from 6am to 11pm.
4. For the evening, the Yas Marina Circuit is open every day from 9am to 11pm for driving, drifting, drag and karting sessions.

If you have two days

Cut Day 3. Yas is the one day that shares nothing with the others, so dropping it leaves two complete days.

1. Day 1: Old Abu Dhabi as written, ending on the Corniche.
2. Day 2: the mosque at 9am, then the Louvre, as written.
3. If Yas matters more than the island, swap it for Day 1 and keep the mosque and Louvre day.

If you have a fourth day

A fourth day is a list, not a route. Choose one: mangroves, a second Saadiyat museum or a desert safari.
